“Rain Drinkers return with a third offering on Reverb Worship. As with previous releases, ‘Springtide’ comes with artwork and photography by Dani Dahlke and is limited to just 100 pieces! That’s not a lot of pieces my friend. So, if you enjoyed Rain Drinkers previous outings you’ll most certainly want to get on to this one sharpish. 'Springtide’ is made up of three arrangements all of which are seeped in melancholy and haunting atmospherics, balancing the use of ponderous piano and heartfelt strings with a host of additional ambient sounds and field recordings. The result is a captivating, almost magical thirty three minutes of mysterious, partially improvised neoclassicism with the emotional weight of Hood’s 'Rustic Houses..’ and the majesty of early Godspeed You Black Emperor coupled with rhythmic experimentation of Steve Reich."
