A bit from my forthcoming Nerve guest column:

Well, to avoid being labeled some kind of boring world music buff, I had to risk being seen as a bit hipsterish. In fact, I’m neither, the story is;  every season I’m stuck with a garage rock band with lo-fi tendencies and good songwriting. Last year it was Thee Oh Sees and Nerve City.

This summer it seems to be Florida’s Jacuzzi Boys and their Glazin’ album. Compared to some of my daily music diet, this is quite simplistic, 3 chord rock'n'roll, but there’s a high level of carefree energy here which helps you dearly when you go out of your house to do some chores and you have this playing on your iphone. You feel like a rebel, a king, and back to 18 again.
