Here's no. 14 of our show as I try to keep up. I had published a best of 2007 (kinda) list before but seems my fileden account has run out of bandwidth so I will move it to another place and republish it tomorrow, in the meantime enjoy this show selected by yours truly. We start with the Original Rockers, roots rock reggae from Jacob Miller and go to a contrasting electronic nu-dub piece by Norwegian Bjorn Torske. Some hiphop beats from the late Dilla and MF and at #7 there's a great song by Cannonball Adderley from 1972. Soul Zodiac is a concept album that presents all the signs in the zodiac alongside matching jazz pieces, totally awesome, I'm not into astrology even one bit but still I put my own sign Pisces the Fish!. More jazz from Nostalgia 77, Berkeley sax player Joshua Redman's new one, an old piece by Sahib Shibab which I found on Orgy in Rhythm, Aldo Romano and the uptown trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, seperated by Hey-O-Hansen's epic dubstep piece Abraxas which I featured here a few days ago. We end the show with Nation of Ulysses the seminal hardcore band from DC with an energetic piece with brasses, straight from 1991! and Matthew Herbert's rendition of Singing in the Rain, once again featured here. also available as podcast from odeo and stream from archive.org 01. jacob miller - keep on knockin' 02. bjorn torske - spelunker 03. jneiro jarel - get yuh own 04. j dilla - the money 05. mf doom meets clutchy hopkins - track 3 06. linn and freddie - l.i.n.n 07. cannonball adderley - pisces 08. nostalgia 77 - stop to make a change 09. tangoterje - black magic 10. joshua redman - wagon wheels 11. sahib shibab - the turk's bolero 12. aldo romano - storyville 13. hey-o-hansen - abraxas 14. wynton marsalis - where y'all at 15. nation of ulysses - ulythium 16. matthew herbert - singing in the rain
