Have you noticed the recent surge of Finnish music on undomondo? I did and that led me to mention another Finnish band, Kuusumun Profeetta, the
Moon Fog Prophet. I've first heard their name on a compilation called
Jazzflora from 2004. Although the comp had lovely music from the likes of
Hird, Five Corners Quintet & Kahuun, Profeetta's brushed downtempo opener
Kovin Lentäen Kotiin Kaipaanon had rendered me unable to listen to the remaining songs.
Last year they had an EP out on
Fonal, which I jumped over, however I couldn't find the jazzy vibes I fell in love with but saw it replaced by more theatrical progressive elements with even more Finnish vocals. Anyways, while I was writing the previous post, I gave a second listen to the 4 tracker and loved the closing track with the (kinda) symphonic brass, it seems
Alamaailman has made me a prog lover after all.
