Festival Villette Sonique

parc de la villette Villette Sonique festival in Paris this year will be eccentric, noisy, unhinged but also melodious, charming, classy and of course, sonic. The festival takes its name from Parc de la Villette the iconoclastic park project done by master architect Bernard Tschumi with theoretical supplement by Jacques Derrida and it will take place next weekend. This year there are 2 open air events in the Villette Park and special events around Paris venues. A good selection of artists featuring Jamie Lidell, Krikor, Pascal Comelade, Cosmic Disco King Danielle Baldelli, D.I.R.T.Y Sound System, Jens Lekman, First Nation, Christian Fennesz & Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle/Faith no More), Nurse with Wound, MĚM and more going to appear. Thankfully, the festival page makes use of mp3s/youtube links so you can sample the artists you don't know, this should be standard for all festivals!.
