One might remember 2001's as the peak for quality minimal music, one of the main actors for it was
Playhouse/Ongaku/Klang under
Roman Flügel's guidance. A golden EP reminiscent of those days has been released on Klang by Radical Majik and boy is it good. Appropriately labeled micro-trance by Boomkat because of the melodies in a sort of trancy way, somewhat resembling
Ame among many others. Although I totally hate commercial trance, this is a massive track and worth noting.
Another less-noted influence back in the day was Switzerland's
Brüchstücke label with a quality before quantity approach and a small roster. One of the biggest players has been
Styro 2000 alongside
Bang Goes. If you've been to one of their analogue live shows, you'd see what I'm talking about. Here's a new release from Styro 2000 on
Kahlwild sister label to
Tobias Becker's
Platzhirsch.
