I've been listening to
Leels' 3rd album "Fingees crossed" on and off since June. I was just trying to find the best time to post, but since I'm not listening to so much indie right now, I would have to postpone it even further, so here's todays post on them. Their latest effort Fingees Crossed is on Chicago's
Cloth Monkey Records while their previous ones were on Emperor Jones. Mature psychedelic downtempo indie pop with rock tones here and not the teen MTV variant. It reminded me of a more straightforward
Phantom Buffalo album with piano and other instruments. The band has recorded the album sending stuff long-distance which is striking as the music is pretty well crafted even for a band that spends all of their time together. Pretty original songs I must say with arrangements and melodies all in place, it seems this band has much to say in their own unique language.
