Alif Tree is French artist, Alexandre Alif, owner of the Memory Music label as well. I've been hearing his name and trying to check his music out when I got his Forgotten Places single. It features a remix by Moodymann, which is the ultimate seal of quality, and also a remix by Felix Laband, which is the best track on the single for me. However here's the original version for you to enjoy. This is a jazz influenced downtempo tune, with great vocals and bassline. Hassle Hound is one of the recent releases on Staubgold. This song is the opener and it's really a nice song, with accoustic guitar, and a rhythm by horse hoofs, and occasional horse screams (or whatever it's called ;) ). Interesting! Now onto more dancey tracks, Victor Font aka Mr. V's track is a dancefloor burner. Mr. V & Alix Alvarez are notable figures from NYC's Lower East Side, and they're all about nice party sounds. Like Thugfucker, whose self-acclaimed modern day macarena has really affected my aerobic sessions. This tune will make you think it's silly on first listen, but gradually you'll be forced to do `the dance`, and in a few days you'll be at a rehab trying to stop yourself. Believe me!
