Electro / Minimal Stuff
Some things that I want to mention. First I’ve signed up for the IndieKarma blog network as you can see from the (hopefully) non-obtrusive footer that displays. It’s a great karma system designed for blogs so whenever you visit a blog on the IndieKarma network, that blog gets 1 cent (0.01), a small amount of karma that can add up, if you have a good karma, right?
I’m not in it for the money really, but I was thinking about something like this for music that gets played on your system. We have an excellent tool & network like Last.FM now, so maybe someday all music will be free, and whenever you play a track a very small amount of music goes automatically to the artist, of course there are some more problems to this, I’ve developed some more ideas about it, but then I stopped working on it, because that’s the kind of person I am :) So anyone who finds this idea viable, pls msg.
Anyways, this system hopefully has a working economic model, and I hope people like it and jump on the bandwagon. BTW the first 5000 subscribers get an automatic 1 dollars that you can spend on your favourite blogs, so please join!

Today I’ve chosen 2 tunes from recent electro / minimal house stuff. I was pretty big on the whole minimal movement back a few years ago, but I really think the minimal genre is not particularly exciting for the last 2 years or so, (maybe after the birth of the so called electro-house or acid-house revival). However these 2 tracks IMO have some originality or maybe some hit potential between thousands of other mediocre shit.
Poro is on Pakkas Levyt, sublabel of Jussi Pekka’s Frozen North. It’s pretty frozen and ultra-minimal.
Tekel and Tim Paris has collaborated on this 12″ on Marketing Music. I didn’t like the other song, but this has some great popish qualities and offers a pleasant ride. Analog synths and krautrock influences.
