Cults
Just got the Cults virus yesterday night thanks to our pal yvynyl, infectious retro twee pop goodness. MOAR!
Song for the Lovers
Bark Bark Disco’s twee pop gets even sweeter when the video backdrop is the classic “Six Swedish Girls in a Boarding School“.
BEKO DSL
Reno of BEKO Digital Single Label informed us a few months ago about their brilliant netlabel, but we’ve been slow to feature it. If you’re into shoegaze, psychedelic, twee pop, lo-fi noise pop etc. don’t sleep on them. BEKO releases a 2 piece single every Monday for free.
Liechtenstein
All girl twee pop trio Liechtenstein has released their debut full length “Survival Strategies in a Modern World ” on – who else – Oakland’s Slumberland Records, also home to one Cause Co-Motion! (our favourites), Crystal Stilts, and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (not our favorites).
Vivian Girls
Vivian Girls‘ 22-minute self titled debut is hot cake right now (or was a month or so ago you know I can’t keep up with the kids) and not because Pitchfork told us so. Ok, I gotta admit that I first read about them via pitchfork, yet unlike most of the stuff I read and never check I jumped on Vivian Girls because I love this microgenre.
