Moon Wiring Club
Dwelling on a similar aesthetic as his colleagues on Ghost Box, Ian Hodgson has produced an abundance of strange tales and eerie soundscapes on his two efforts both mystically featuring 22 tracks and wonderful artwork.
Dick Hyman
After Error101’s Alamooga post, here’s another quick moog post featuring the prolific pianist & composer Dick Hyman a legendary figure who has released more than 100 albums under his own name. The Age of Electronicus from 1969 features lots of well known covers from The Beatles’ “Ob-la-di Ob-la-da” to James Brown’s “Give it up or turn it loose”.
Sentetik Oyun Havaları
For all who are fans of cover songs, moog synths and Anatolian-pop combined, here’s Turkish dance music “a-la-mooga” for you.
Monsterism Island
Cardiff based cratedigger and visual artist Pete Fowler’s bag of goodies is a 27 song deep bag (if you count the interludes) of folk, exotica, guitar based psychedelia and synth music featuring artists such as Ghost Box faves Belbury Poly & The Advisory Circle, Luke Vibert, Gruff Rhys of the Super Furry Animals, Cherrystones, Circulus et al.
Carton Park
Two years after we reviewed Gangpol & Mit’s “The Hopelessly Sad Story of the Hideous end of the World“, we have their new project “Carton Park” in our hands. Working together with Ponpoko Records bosses Mami Chan and Norman Bambi this one is “especially intended for kiddies”.
From an Ancient Star
Ghost Box is one of the most cherished labels here at undomondo thanks to their nostalgic soundscapes and the hauntology inspired conceptualism. Their new release by Belbury Poly is out and we’ve been listening to it since a few days.
Private School
Private School is not an electronica project but it’s a lo-fi hiphop trio with similar Powershovel aesthetic. Touches of 90’s triphop, raw and sparse beats, simple synth melodies and rapping on top!
