Hazy nudiscoisms
Just had this Neon Indian’s synth based electro disco treat for Au Revoir Simone’s Another Likely in our mailbox. Not our usual cup of coffee but this hazy nudisco sound has its ups for sure. Coupled it with Nite Jewel’s What did he say. Nite Jewel = The queen of haziness.

Robot Love
Here’s an older review by fistula_spume from MOG, which I forgot to publish. I was going to keep on writing a few more jazz/nujazz/beat stuff but I don’t have the time now, so enjoy this offtopic obscure synth gem…
Phalangius
From Cambridge comes the mysterious CDR from Phalangius with a bag of synth tunes made solely on the Roland Juno 6. I sense that this is a fake identity though, as did clone.nl, which think that he’s simply Legowelt.
Trans Am
Thrill Jockey mammoth Trans Am has a new album out named “Sex Change”. Arguably one of the most prominent bands of the 90s alongside Tortoise and Labradford, their new album is interestingly radiofriendly somewhat opposed to their eclectic musical tastes. Frankly I’ve never been a huge fan of synth + rock, or new wave, or the arena electronic aesthetic of MTV’s pop acts, but this album caught me totally offguard.
Exchpoptrue
I had lost interest in the electroclash and electropop genre, right after the start of the glam and the glitz. However thanks to Exchpoptrue on Popcorn Lab, I’m now back into roboglam and I’m feeling younger now. The band feels very dynamic thanks to gritty italo disco basslines by Christian Bouyjou and what’s better than having a witty grrrl vocalist? Having two of course!
Otur
Here’s a surprise electronic downtempo album from Sweden, which went far beyond my expectations. Otur means the imperative “sit down” in Turkish, but I figured out that it means bad luck in Swedish. 22 years old Emma Bates from Malmoe, Sweden who was previously worked with Jens Lekman and lots more seems to be an active mover and shaker in Sweden.
