Woozy Viper
Another duo from USA this time leaning more on good spirited rock music, is Luke and Mitch Meseke’s Woozy Viper. The brothers apparently think that in an information-abundant society, there’s never enough ego-boosting and self-identification, so they opted out of it completely. All we’ve got is a 12 song debut album for free download and a cover photo.
White Denim
If any of you UK freaks need to get your yearly southern rock fix like I do, the Texas’ modern day cowboys White Denim are currently on tour in the UK. I guess it all started with Kings of Leon’s sophomore for me : I instantly got teleported into a vintage American car, started riding through the desert and stopping at godforsaken motels, singing about “Taper Jean Girls” and stuff I know shit about.
Steel Mammoth
I’ve been listening to more and more rock these days because there’s a slew of creative stuff coming out on smaller labels. Take Steel Mammoth a band who describes themselves with the following passage : “A lonesome engine cries, howling in the cruel crüel night! Nuclear nightmare, atomic style! Shadow barbarians with lazer eyes, radiation village, the black fire burning bright!
Dead Meadow
Sorry for the lack of posts, just havin’ a hard time with my finals for the time being. I’m through with all but two, so it’s time to feature my primary helper during this stressful week, Dead Meadow’s reissue of their self titled first album.
