Undomondo Radio Show #92
#92 Tropical soul and chillwaves : Sun Araw, Woods, Coma Cinema, Forest Swords, The Alps, Ous Mal, Ian Hawgood, The Boats and more..
Sun Araw: Ma Holo
Totally baked tropical jams from Magic Lantern member Cameron Stallones, aka Sun Araw. In his own words it is “for heavy-steamin’ late nights in the city, inter-dimensional back alleys, ghost cabs and midnight sweat locker rooms.” Not much to say but scream SUN ARAW when you’re bubbling with sweat on a late night stoner party.
Forest Swords
Another day another Olde English Spelling Bee record. Seems like this NY label can do no wrong when it comes to modern day psychedelia. My new addiction is in the form of the proper debut of Liverpool’s Forest Swords whose sole proprietor M. Barnes manages to conjure dark psychedelic soundscapes with the help of our good old friend dub.
Colophon
From pastoral folkscapes with The Alps to electronic soundscapes with Tarentel, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma is a gifted conjurer of emotion. Colophon’s Love Loops is a reissue of his 2003 work, an exercise in minimal electronics in tune with the clicks and cuts movement of the time.
Talvihorros
Might have gotten a bit of a breeze while listening to Talvihorros’ latest on Hibernate Recordings on this extremely humid afternoon. Recommended if you’re into drony psychedelic ambient soundscapes.
Klang
Klang is a weekly radioshow by our friend Seda Nigbolu, that never fails to deliver the goods. Covering every aspect of modern experimentation and noise making like black metal, drone, doom jazz, soundscapes and even minor genres like hauntology, this late hour beast will sear your soul. Start with these three favourites first!
Mixtapes 24/2010
Offloading all the mixes we’ve been listening to for the last couple of months. Taylor Deupree, Paul White, Analog Africa, Congotronics, Cazeaux OSLO, Onur Engin, Aphex Twin, Julian Lynch, Oneohtrix Point Never, DJ Nuts and more.
Sawdust Aromatics
Didn’t take long to fall in love with this Brian Granger & David Tagg split on the Rope Swing Cities netlabel, after our friend Barış Aktınmaz pointed us in its direction yesterday. Two beautiful summer drones from each artist, get baked and spend your free time lying around and contemplating.
