Trans Am

Trans Am

Thrill Jockey mammoth Trans Am has a new album out named “Sex Change”. Arguably one of the most prominent bands of the 90s alongside Tortoise and Labradford, their new album is interestingly radiofriendly somewhat opposed to their eclectic musical tastes. Frankly I’ve never been a huge fan of synth + rock, or new wave, or the arena electronic aesthetic of MTV’s pop acts, but this album caught me totally offguard.

I could swear that I heard a female voice on Budapest but Poni Hoax is a 5 piece all-men band from Paris. I’d listened to their hit song Budapest before and when they released their self titled album in July, I was curious about them because it was produced by Joakim and released on Tigersushi.

Label roundup Part 3 : If Society
