The cult sci-fi surf outfit Man or Astro-man?, the band which molded our psyches with the b-movie, OTR, sci-fi, surf aesthetic while we still were youngins, are reunited.

Very excited about meeting and hosting one of the primary movers and shakers in Budapest, DJ Suhaid tomorrow at our dig Mini Müzikhol. Amazing 70′s Magyar Funk & Soul, laced with rock & beat; he’s Budapest’s answer to our own Baris K. Yes, sometimes it’s our turn to get lucky!

Sorry for the lack of updates, we’re super busy with our first live gig at Mini Muzikhol which will be taking place in about 5 hours. Gokcen Kaynatan is a pioneer of Turkish music.

To show our solidarity with all of the oppressed of the world, our friend Barış K. has made a special Labour Day Mix. His selection unearths mostly political and mostly forgotten (thanks to constant military interventions) songs from the 60-80s Turkish repertoire, gems from Cem Karaca, Selda, Derdiyoklar, Aşık Mahzuni and others you won’t be able to listen anywhere else. Enjoy!

Ok, my last review for the time being is for our close friend Baris K. who took the dance scene by storm with his Eurasia mixes. The Eurasia sound focuses on forgotten Turkish classics of soul, funk, disco and Anatolian rock from the 70s.
