Rephlex mammoth Mr. Cylob has taken his gamelan based ambient music a step forward and created a new outfit called Ambient News. Out on his label Cylob Industries this 14 track album is pure oldschool ambient bliss with bits of electronic beats, bells, computer singing and digital manipulation.

I’m really happy that we’re getting acclaim from not only other mp3blogs but labels and artists as well. Just a week or so ago a mail from Accidental Records home to one of our most respected artists Matthew Herbert came asking us if we wanted promos and the same week veteran Rephlex artist Cylob contacted us in person over his new label!.

The first one is a cover of Frank Zappa’s controversial song Bobby Brown by Queen of Japan from 2001. Yeah I know, when it’s not sung by Zappa it’s not the same anymore, but nevertheless this is a cheerful and uptempo electro cover by Mr. Platzgummer, and the vocals seem like r&b now.
