5 star monday 4
Black Medicine Music from Stag Hare, rapidfire freejazz from Chicago’s DKV Trio (Hamid Drake, Kent Kessler , Ken Vandermark), Murky urban ghetto tales from Ciccone Youth aka Sonic Youth, a free piano composition from Muhal Richard Abrams that converges to infinity and finally an elegiac by Andrew Liles.
Bohren & Der Club of Gore
2002′s Black Earth is Bohren & Der Club of Gore‘s 4th and arguably their best album. Glacially slow funeral jazz with an attention to ambience more than the playing (doesn’t mean that the playing is bad of course).
