noise rock
Keiji Haino & Yoshida Tatsuya
Here’s an alternative start to the week, a smorgasbord, no a storm of wild styles by two master musicians, the prolific guitarist Keiji Haino and Ruins drummer Yoshida Tatsuya. Released on Tzadik “Uhrfasudhasdd” is the follow up to New Rap and it’s only for experienced noise/improv heads.
BEKO DSL
Reno of BEKO Digital Single Label informed us a few months ago about their brilliant netlabel, but we’ve been slow to feature it. If you’re into shoegaze, psychedelic, twee pop, lo-fi noise pop etc. don’t sleep on them. BEKO releases a 2 piece single every Monday for free.

Tonstartssbandht : High Roller
I know the video displays a total geekfest in there, but the lads have an uncommon almost manic energy. Real High Rollers!
Noxious Foxes
Brooklyn guitar & drum duo Noxious Foxes has just self released their debut LP Lovestorm. Their music is a balanced combination of loud shapeshifting riffs and drumming, what you’d come to expect from a math rock band, with a little touch of Karate style sophistication. Gripping compositions, this band needs to be heard more.
TONIGHT : Kreuztanbul
If you’re in Berlin; Kreuztanbul is taking place today, featuring the prides of Istanbul noise rock scene (and any scene to be correct) Nekropsi and Proudpilot, alongside Canadian singer and honorary Turk Brenna Mac Crinnon and Alexander Hacke. 10 Euros totally justified, don’t miss!
Ahleuchatistas
Asheville, NC power trio Ahleuchatistas‘ (pronounciation tip : the name comes from the Charlie Parker song “Ah-leu-cha”) fifth full length called Of the Body Prone is hands down the best mathcore/improv album this year to grace your speakers..
Vlor / Aarktica
Silber Records with their “Drone love honesty sound” motto is one of them. Focusing on leftfield indie genres like slowcore, shoegaze and their bigger brother post-rock, they’ve become a go to label for everything that includes wall of sound in their 13 year history.
