micro house
Thomas Fehlmann
Berliner electronic music veteran Thomas Fehlmann of Oceanclub and part time The Orb fame, has released his second album on Kompakt after 2002’s Visions of Blah.
Markus Guentner
So, we’re back from Prague, it was a lovely trip and we have got a very special CD from an old and out of this world street musician, which will hopefully be reviewed here soon, but till then we’re gonna continue with some minimal dance stuff.
Superlongevity
One of my favourite compilations by one of the genre defining labels from Berlin, Superlongevity by Perlon has it’s 4th installment released. If you’ve ever listened to minimal techno/house built on glitch & clicks, Perlon was one of the first labels to define that sound.
Minimal sounds
3 cool minimal house/technoish songs for today. The first one is off Landesvatter’s Lax on Normoton. Textures, ambience and minimal house, pretty much what you’d expect. Here’s a review on Textura and another one on Prefix.
Safety Scissors – Tainted Lunch
Unfortunately for Matthew Patterson Curry or Safety Scissors as we know him, it’s hard to remain anonymous when you’re making music like that. He likes to eat ice cream, ride his bicycle and make minimal techno that shines through a gazillion of the same old clickclacky releases.
Salif Keita – Yamore (Luciano Remix) + Roundup
Here is a great remix by Luciano (not the Reggae artist) of a prolific African artist Salif Keita. As inspired by the Afrobeat roundup link on the previous post, I’ve decided to upload this Afro induced monster.
