After two weeks of absence, we’re back with #73 of our shows, once again done in partnership with Can Ayverdi. There’s an abundance of soulful and jazzy beats, a bit of psych folk at the beginning and some easy tempo and brasiliera at the end. Playlist inside! Have a nice week!

#69 starts with a solemn piece from the German doomjazzers Bohren und der Club of Gore then goes right into some easy tempo and nujazz, followed by dub from Burning Spear, hip-hop & some cosmic non-Fela afrobeat from Hector Malcoun and Peruvian chicha by Juaneco.

We’ve always been late late in dealing with the passing year; but this time we’re way into the new one. God only knows what next year will bring but knowing that lots of readers are still hunting good albums from 2008 here’s one final post about 2008 with a cream of the crop selection and we go straight to 2009! Promise!

Here’s a show no less jazzy than my others. Essentials like Art Blakey, funky 70s, a pinch of jazzy hiphop and even some jazz for secret agents by Ingfried Hoffmann, one of my recent found gems. I’m in your radio, tapping your jazzy listening pleasures on a bi-weekly basis:)

Coincident with this week’s neosoul/hiphop vibes here’s a mix with jazz + neosoul + nu school hiphop + funk + afrobeat + disco elements. One highlight is Mor Thiam’s `Ayo Ayo Nene` which was recently included in a compilation called Spiritual Jazz, but thanks to a comment by our avid reader Henri, a rip of the original vinyl release can be found on El Reza.

Continuing our soulful hiphop tour, renowned beatdigger Steve Ellison aka Flying Lotus is soon to have his sophomore album “Los Angeles” out on UK’s Warp. His debut “1983″ on Carlos Nino’s (Ammoncontact / Build an Ark) Plug Research was very well received and so was his “Reset EP” on Warp, which is pure gold!.

If you’re wondering where on earth shows #33-38 are, don’t! #39 was a special one where I set out to do an alternative show from christmas songs but failed. The first part begins with some great christmas tunes, goes into some oldschool hiphop & booty bass and finally ends with a superb Turkish folk jazz piece, which I found through 45devir.net thanks to our reader Henri!

#27 begins with a the intro of a collaboration album between the legendary French pioneer Jean-Jacques Perrey and Luke Vibert who’ll also be quite legendary when he gets as old, we’ll be covering both artists next week. We start off electronic with a touch of dub by Dr. Israel and Horace Andy.
