One of the deservedly hottest things in music right now is hands down Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder imprint. If you’ve been sleeping under a rock, Flying Lotus and colleagues have been feeding us nuschool instrumental beats which owe much to electronic music as much as everything hip-hop generally gets inspired off.

Yesterday @tokafi mentioned two of our favourite netlabels Zymogen and 12Rec has founded a new label called Error Broadcast and they’ve released their first label compilation called Bag of Nothingness that spans across 17 songs of abstract, instrumental hip-hop.

Anyways, today we have Vincent Black Shadow from Baltimore, with a gnarly stoner rock mixed with punk & psychedelics. NYC based I Love you Airlines is a nu-age rock/glam duo with electronics, didn’t like the other songs but this one is pretty catchy.

I mentioned Chicago’s Galapagos4 Crew on Deejay Om’s lovely effort a few posts ago. This leftfield instrumental hiphop/beat crew has been on my playlist with their 2005 stuff for some time with artists like Mestizo, Denizen Kane, Royce, Meaty Ogre and Mike Gao.

Whooo, it’s time to review one of my favourite CDs from 2007 just before it gets a regular western world release on Galapagos4, a leftfield hiphop label that slipped through my filters this year, with artists like Mike Gao and Mestizo.
