Thanx to yesterday’s tweet tip by Lucas Gonze here’s an amazing free download Ghostly International compo for Adult Swim featuring the who’s who of contemporary electronic music.

The commencement of 2009 was barely worthwhile with a few 4 star LPs and slight disappointments from trusted artists. Animal Collective’s much hyped album is at most mediocre, if you aren’t preaching to the hipster choir, Alela Diane’s album is kind of bland after her brilliant sophomore and so is Tim Hecker’s. Here’s a quick recap of what to come in March and a best of selection of the first two months.

We’ve always been late late in dealing with the passing year; but this time we’re way into the new one. God only knows what next year will bring but knowing that lots of readers are still hunting good albums from 2008 here’s one final post about 2008 with a cream of the crop selection and we go straight to 2009! Promise!

* Vol 5 of the We Make it Good series by The Gaslamp Killer, a true gemfinder with lots of psychedelia, beats, noise, soul and hiphop under his belt. Fader Magazine.

Anyways, today we have Vincent Black Shadow from Baltimore, with a gnarly stoner rock mixed with punk & psychedelics. NYC based I Love you Airlines is a nu-age rock/glam duo with electronics, didn’t like the other songs but this one is pretty catchy.
