“how this came to be?
and so easily?
how we wasted all this time,
yours, theirs, ours and mine
we should sell our souls!”
Deerhoof tonight!
For all you guys & gals who aren’t in the know, Deerhoof is playing today in Istanbul courtesy of Bant Magazine. I don’t know if it means something for you but they’re currently #1 on my last.fm after 2 years and more than 60.000 listens overall and I still think that they’re one of the best bands I’ve ever listened and I’m actually excited about a show.
White Magic
I first heard of Brooklyn’s White Magic on Aquarius records‘ newcomers list and the praises it got kinda intrigued me. During the first listen may views changed from “standard freak-folk & indie rock hybrid” to “strangely minimalistic and absorbingly beatiful freaky folk & indie hybrid”.
Myspace frenzy!
Different genres and quality, this month’s worthy finds on myspace.
* Oturma Grubu : Minimal electronic pop with postrock influences from Ankara/Turkey.
* 1 Abaco Autor Ricar : Well, even the name of this guy is strange. An interesting hybrid music, 90’s rave meets new age meets Spanish romanticism and guitar solos? You name it!
* Seige : Dope soulful hiphop beats.
Reblog 11.02
* The Dead Science interview on Space City Rock. We’ve caught them with Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, at the last show of their European Tour in Prague. We’ve actually got videos from the whole show but I don’t know when it will be ready to be posted.
