Ses Partisi 01
Our dear friend Grup Ses sent us the new series he’s started called Ses Partisi 01 which is a series dedicated to contemporary alternative music from Turkey. Includes songs from him, Klaustro, Grangulez, Replikas, Hazavuzu, Ekin Fil of Proudpilot and even an older track by yours truly!.
Calika
Don’t know what made me go all electronics today but the urge doesn’t seem to cease. Coming your way from Calika, more heady electronica on top of precise beats, check the picture perfect review by The Milk Factory:
The Archivist
Moteer boss and The Boats/The Sea & The Remote Viewer main man, Craig Tattersall’s new alter ego The Archivist gathers his unreleased stuff for UK’s Lacie’s Records. Essential no filler disc if you are into early Jan Jelinek, Napoli is not Nepal, Porn Sword Tobacco, Origamibiro, Xploding Plastix and of course Tattersall himself.
Kelpe : Cambio Wechsel
Seems the recent interest in experimental beat & everything cosmic has helped UK beatmaker Kelpe get more air time with his fourth DC Recordings offering “Cambio Wechsel”.
OMFO : Omnipresence
There’s one man in the world that I’d like to meet in person. It’s Our Man From Odessa, OMFO: “It all started in a chaikhana somewhere in Central Asia. As I was enjoying a bowl of tea, suddenly the east of my brain started to send strange signals to my body. And then my vision of the world turned into the abstract motif of a Turkmen rug…”
Ego Twister Movie Ruiners
MU-YAP have made an ass of themselves by filing a lawsuit to censor access to Myspace and Last.fm. These idiots don’t have ANY idea of how things work in the 21st century, but thank God there are smart people who appreciate sharing a hard day’s labour. One of them, the Ego Twister netlabel is back with a movie covers compilation.
Shuta Hasunuma
Contrary to at least half of the electronic music Shuta Hasunuma’s Pop Ooga isn’t only technical mumbojumbo. Hasunuma has managed to breathe life into these glitchy electronic pop songs, first and foremost by his own voice most of the time, but also with his compositions.
Wevie Stonder
Songs about characters “swimming in a raindrop, living in a thimble” or talking about mid-album crises and asking questions like “like what time is it, why are we here, why are you here?” are just the type of tacky juvenile fun we like.
