TTASM Live in Istanbul
After a year or so of laying low, we’re starting a new music venue in Cihangir, Istanbul. We start off this Friday with The Time & Space Machine of Tirk Records, London; a regular on undomondo.
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
The 19th Akbank Jazz Festival is commencing tonight. Tomorrow’s big deal is Terje Rypdal at Aya Irini, but we’ll be skipping it to check out the NYC Brass band Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.
Anthony Joseph
For all y’all who can’t get into literature and especially poetry, British spoken word artist Mr. Anthony Joseph is once again wrapping words with infectious grooves to make it digestable for you, because who can resist the Carribean beat, right?.
The Time & Space Machine
The Time & Space Machine is part of the UK school of psychedelic revivalism contrasting the psych^noise work that I’ve talked about yesterday. The man behind the time machine, Richard Norris, is famed for being one half of Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve and his debut LP weaves a trippy sonic nest of psychedelic beats, groove and fuzz guitar.
Andy Votel vs Chris Geddes
We be traveling to the other side of Istanbul in a few hours – like we do every year or so on unfortunate occasions like this – to listen to Andy Votel vs Chris Geddes. If you haven’t made your mind for tonight’s activity you can go to this placed called Dunia around 9PM and enjoy vintage groove and funk carefully hunted by these 2 Brits in charge.
Diesler Live in Istanbul
Our UK friend Jonathan Radford aka Diesler just hit us a few days ago with a sampler from his recent work. Here’s The Jazzinvaders remix of his track ‘Revelations‘ featuring the vocals of Laura Vane. He’ll be playing live with his ensemble today in Istanbul. Enjoy and check them out if you’re in town.
Diesler exclusive mix for undomondo
Our friend from UK, Jonathan Radford aka Diesler (Tru Thoughts, Freestyle and also remixes on Ninja Tune, Sundays Best and others) has made an exclusive summer mix for us. A 40 minute mix of the best beat, nujazz & latin grooves mixed flawlessly, this mix might be a lifesaver in case of being subject to bad commercial music on your holiday trips. (Which I’m sure will happen at one step).
Undomondo Radio Show #60
Friends! #60 is a joint production selected by fellow DJ/producer Fattish and me. Starts off funky, delves into some proggy folkrock, then some rock, then some more rock without losing the groovy edge! The Dodos nicked from Earfarm and Ceramic Dog courtesy of our friend Matt @ DL Media.
