We went on a short vacation in the countryside this weekend, here’s 5 of the tunes that stuck most in my mind during hours of idle car time. The Bamboos cover Kings of Leon, Dom um Romao track found on Donnaslut. More Congos.

First track is off UK leftfield R&B soul artist Muhsinah‘s debut “Day Break 2.0″, mysterious Californian composer Clutchy Hopkins who has previously worked with another secretive artist MF Doom.

Coincident with this week’s neosoul/hiphop vibes here’s a mix with jazz + neosoul + nu school hiphop + funk + afrobeat + disco elements. One highlight is Mor Thiam‘s `Ayo Ayo Nene` which was recently included in a compilation called Spiritual Jazz, but thanks to a comment by our avid reader Henri, a rip of the original vinyl release can be found on El Reza.

Philadelphia’s King Britt (aka Sylk 130, Scuba) is 30 something right now, yet he’s still full of the energy he used to have in his youth. His eclectic taste in music and his genrebending productions and remixes had made him a major player in the Philly hip-hop, house and soul scenes since 1990′s and he’s worked with many of our favourite artists like Ursula Rucker, Rich Medina..

UK Resident Jonathan Radford aka Diesler‘s new album “Keepie Uppies” has been praised everywhere since its release in April. Tru Thoughts has released an EP on 12″ featuring a remix by Gerardo Frisina from Italy’s Schema Records and the vocal talent of Joseph Malik on another track.
