electropop
In the mailbox : Feb ‘10
New stuff piling up in our mailbox. First single from Balmorhea’s upcoming third album. Owen Pallett remixed by Simon Bookish. Borrowed Eyes on Banter MM. Brooklyn’s Psychobuildings, and Cuckoo Chaos on Lefse Records.
Undomondo Radio Show #84
#84 : Heady electronica treatise from Mr. Can Ayverdi; this is a mellow & hazy one bordering on glo-fi time to time. A dreamy summer set BUT it might go down as breakfast muzak on a winter day as well.
Little Dragon : Feather
The Swedes know their thing when it comes to making electro pop (or melodic death metal, for that matter). The first single of Little Dragon’s sophomore release Machine Dreams. I heard they’ll be in Istanbul soon.
Brain Children
This little nudisco/indie dance nugget from Australia’s Brain Children comes off their 6 track self titled debut EP. Would fit right next to Woolfy vs Projections or the nu balearic sounds of Lindström and co.
Golau Glau
Just had a mail in our inbox that read “Golau Glau” are two of our favourite words that go well together. We formed at the beginning of June and have had airplay on Xfm and Radio Wales. We like Wales and cats, and whales but not Cats.”
Mailbox June : Dance
The second part of the mailbox love can loosely be grouped as dance but it’s actually more than that. Laura Vane & The Vipertones’ new single, Strut Records Soul Samba compilation Black Rio, Paul White’s remix of Lizzy Parks, a new Magic Wands remix and more.
West End Girls
Today we have a Leonard Cohen cover coming from a surprising artist, techno DJ Misstress Barbara, title track Hanne Hukkelberg’s “Blood from a Stone”, opener to Scanner’s “Rockets unto the Edges” and “West End Girls” from electro dance punk sensations We Have Band.
Zwicker Lucid Dreaming
We’ve started tagging albums that’ll make our year’s end lists with #essential09, a temporary twitter space for a rolling best releases thread. Zwicker’s Songs of Lucid Dreamers is going to be the 3rd essential coming from undomondo.
