Rephlex mammoth Mr. Cylob has taken his gamelan based ambient music a step forward and created a new outfit called Ambient News. Out on his label Cylob Industries this 14 track album is pure oldschool ambient bliss with bits of electronic beats, bells, computer singing and digital manipulation.

Suffering from a mental block last week, I couldn’t get to share this incredible place called Bleep43 which features a lot of amazing podcasts. Here’s the first one that drew me close a two hour podcast by the Moon Wiring Club, which was featured here last month. The fictitious MWC creates eerie psychedelia like Ghost Box and BBC Radiophonic.

Songs about characters “swimming in a raindrop, living in a thimble” or talking about mid-album crises and asking questions like “like what time is it, why are we here, why are you here?” are just the type of tacky juvenile fun we like.

Dwelling on a similar aesthetic as his colleagues on Ghost Box, Ian Hodgson has produced an abundance of strange tales and eerie soundscapes on his two efforts both mystically featuring 22 tracks and wonderful artwork.
