This week’s surpriser flew into our inbox from the duo Berry Weight. Music for Imaginary Movies is their debut on their own label Hypnophonic Records, and it’s apt in describing the music involved.

A sublime cerebral jazz mix for your Mind, by our collaborator Cenk Akyol. This is a seamless B&W trumpet jazz with some ethnic stylings, feat. Erik Truffaz, Herbie Mann, Brad Mehldau, Chris Botti, Dhaffer Youssef, Nguyen Le. & others.

Astronauts of Antiquity’s Rocket Science for Dummies is a solid downtempo/pop/jazz album with inspired songwriting, mellow vibes and good musicianship. Think of Morcheeba’s first 2-3 albums or Zero 7’s debut, Lamb or Thievery Corporation and you’ll be prepared for what the Astronauts are gonna bring to the table.

* Pjusk – Sart (12K): Barren drony soundscapes from Norway by the duo of Jostein Dahl Gjelsvik and Rune Sagevik.
