duo
Bassholes
Comprised of singer/guitarist Don Howland and drummer Lamont “Bim” Thomas, the two-piece Bassholes was founded in 1992. Their latest “…and without a name” on Colombus Discount is a premium blend of skronky, noisy garage blues with the right amount of fuzz, delay and harmonica.
Yellow Swans
Without doubt the most heart-rending noise & drone album since Burning Star Core’s Blood Lightning 2007, a testimony to the fall of an Empire, the desolation after an apocalypse, or the soundtrack to nuclear meltdown, blink and the LPs are gone.
The King Khan & BBQ Show
The monsters which Montreal has unleashed upon the world, King Khan and partner in crime Mark Sultan (BBQ)’s touring Europe right now.
Woozy Viper
Another duo from USA this time leaning more on good spirited rock music, is Luke and Mitch Meseke’s Woozy Viper. The brothers apparently think that in an information-abundant society, there’s never enough ego-boosting and self-identification, so they opted out of it completely. All we’ve got is a 12 song debut album for free download and a cover photo.
Noxious Foxes
Brooklyn guitar & drum duo Noxious Foxes has just self released their debut LP Lovestorm. Their music is a balanced combination of loud shapeshifting riffs and drumming, what you’d come to expect from a math rock band, with a little touch of Karate style sophistication. Gripping compositions, this band needs to be heard more.
Black Cobra
Bay Area guitar/drums duo Black Cobra is another one of them sludgy power trios and stoner duos like Om, Big Business, Weedeater & High on Fire.
No Age : Scala, London
The Line of Best Fit has a live review of LA lo-fi punk duo No Age. That is a good reason to share one from their latest release Losing Feeling. One of the few bands who manages to justify most if not all of their hype. Simple and effective.
Talibam!
Brooklyn Free jazz / noise rock / improv duo Talibam! will be performing at Peyote Istanbul tomorrow night as part of their 9th European Tour.
