dubstep
Dark Matter
Massive darkstep track from UK’s N-Type. Wobbly bass on top of sci-fi audio samples and a sinister aura, just what you want from a dubstep track.
Caspa & Distance
Hate to lead you to think Caspa and Distance has made a track together. Just two dark, metallic and wobbly bass tracks for you to enjoy straight off London.
Digital Mystikz
Hailing from capital of dubstep London, Digital Mystikz crew is Mala & Coki, plus Loefah and MC Sgt. Pokes, who run the DMZ label and host the bimonthly DMZ nights.
Darkstep
It’s safe to continue with a little bit of darkness, and one of the darkest breeds of music is UK’s dubstep. It’s surprising because darkness is more or less equated with noise and guttural voices, yet dubstep freaks continue to provide darkness remaining clear cut and non distorted. Creepy.
Gaza
“No victories no defeat – Just a burning chalice of deceit”
Tiny Mix Tapes’ review of 2006’s Kode9 & Spaceape album “Memories of the Future” mentions that this quote was begging to be taken out of context. I went back to this album a few hours ago and I realized that this suits the Gaza massacre best.
Dubstep Comet 2
My sixth sense (Google Analytics) told me that one of the most popular posts on undomondo this year has been the Dubstep Essentials one. Here’s a few more dubstep/grime, from Cotti, Untold, Ramadanman, Cult of the 13th Hour and 6blocc
Dub/Step Selection Cont’d
I received a mail from our fellow steppa head Golem, saying that the dubstep selection isn’t complete without these tracks. Here are his oneliners and his selection.
Burial
Hi kids, been away for the weekend, and did my first dip in water this year!!. One of the releases I took with me was the eagerly anticipated new release by the mysterious Burial on UK’s Hyperdub which had a very fruitful year in 2006. This new 12″ called Ghost Hardware is prime time Burial stuff a la his debut.
