St. Patrick’s Day

I felt pretty sorry that I forgot to add a traditional instrumental Irish jig to today’s radioshow, because it’s St. Patrick’s Day today. I don’t quite remember days like these but I have always felt some connection with Ireland perhaps because of the green fields or the beer/fight/curse culture, so I decided to unload some traditional stuff today for St. Paddy’s Day

Indie / Instrumental Rock Special #1 - God is an Astronaut

10-28
Category :

With the lack of any nice electronica to post, and general return to more guitar music for me for the last week, I think I would post some nice rock music..

I was going to mention Trail of Dead’s Worlds Apart which is a great song, but Think Tank has got it covered, I thought about posting Animal Collective’s Grass but that’s covered by The Camera as Pen as well.. Some Saxon Shore? Well more than 3 songs have been posted by mp3blogs, so a 4th one would be too much (respect the artists!)..

That’s why I turn back to the beginning of the year, to a great album gone unmentioned by mp3blogs . That’s God is an Astronaut’s All Is Violent, All Is Bright album.. These 3 blokes from Dublin, (Mogwai anyone?) rocked my ears for so long, it would be a shame if I passed this song. (God it rhymes.. )

So here’s a great atmospheric instrumental track for you, very melodic and melancholic..

I’ve got a few more tracks lined up here and I’m digging the crates for more, so stay tuned!
