İkinci kez hazırlamış olduğum beş parçalık seçkimde yine birbirinden farklı tarzlar bir arada olacak..

* İlk parçamız İsveç’li dark ambient, neoclassical tarzlarda müzik yapan Peter Bjärgö‘nin son çalışması olan A Wave Of Bitterness albümünden albümle aynı ismi taşıyan parça. Karanlık bir arka plan üzerine; biraz doğu ezgilerinin eklenmesiyle etnik bir havaya bürünmüş. Albüm de genel olarak başarılı..

* The Dead Sea Indie, shoegaze, post rock, drone gibi bir çok değişik müzik türüne göz kırpan yeni ve değişik bir grup. Seçtiğim parça The Devil Bends oldukça akıcı ilerliyor, dinleyiciyi sıkmıyor. Indie ve post rock’a daha yakın sakinleştiren ve rahatlatan hoş bir çalışma olmuş.

* Karanlık ve bunalımlı bir kış akşamında dinlenebilecek en iyi albümlerden biri olan P.D. Wilder‘ın F/M albümü drone, noise tarzına rahatlıkla dahil edebileceğimiz bir çalışma. Albüm 13 parçadan oluşuyor. Bazı parçaların süreleri oldukça kısa; fakat bir parça 28:55 süresiyle albümün en uzun parçası. Benim bu albümden seçmiş olduğum çalışma ise: 06:56 süreye sahip Bismark. Drone severlerin beğeneceğini umuyorum.

* Voice Of The Seven Thunders 70′lerin experimental, psychedelic rock gruplarına benzer bir grup. Gitar kullanımı ve müziğin ilerleyişi 70′leri anımsatıyor. Dinleyince farkedeceksiniz; ben grubu dinlerken biraz Erkin Koray havası sezinledim. Denenmesi gereken bir grup olduğunu söylemek isterim. Albüm için.

* Talvihorros Electro-acoustic, ambient, drone dinleyicilerinin oldukça hoşuna gidecek bir grup. Labradford, Jasper TX, Tim Hecker severlerin beğeneceği albümden açılış parçası: Handwriting (Part I) burada.

One of the remaining masterpieces from 2009 on the list is La Barca by the master of aural alchemy Thomas Köner. La Barca his first offering in five years, is a matchless soundscapes album; an inimitable blend of field recordings, subtle synths and voices lingering in the back and restless moods. Been guiding me to sleep for the last few months and it’s been one hell of a ride.

For example, without checking, on ‘48º 52′ N 2º 21′ E’ you could be standing in a train station in Azerbaijan, wrapped up in an intangible moment of cinematic bliss, while on ‘31º 46′ N 19º 6′ E’ one feels like a ghost in the midst of a Central American pueblo, or somewhere completely unknown. This is music ripe for the imagination, from an unrivalled mind dedicated to enhanced auditory experience and deserves undivided attention from anyone unafraid to let themselves be taken by it. Just got hooked to Portland, Oregon based Yellow Swans‘ latest and supposedly final album Going Places, a mammoth combo of noisy soundscapes and bleak futures. Boomkat sez:

Legendary American noise unit Yellow Swans return with what is purportedly their final studio album and without doubt their most devastating collection of noise/drone recordings yet, a majestically defining album of collapsing supernova psychedelics.

But going where, exactly? And why, damn it? Listening to the last Yellow Swans album to be released after their seemingly amicable split almost two years ago, it really feels like Pete Swanson and Gabriel Mindel Salomon went their separate ways when they were still at their peak.

Totally agree, without doubt the most heart-rending noise & drone album since Burning Star Core’s Blood Lightning 2007, a testimony to the fall of an Empire, the desolation after an apocalypse, or the soundtrack to nuclear meltdown, blink and the LPs are gone. Out on Type Records.

We overlooked the debut of Julian Lynch, the joint ruler of the New Jersey hazeadelics scene (with Matt Mondanile of Ducktails & Real Estate fame) in 2009. Not unlike the previous “Garden is Adventure EP”, “Orange you Glad” is a unique mixture of hazy memories, childhood nostalgia and dreamy cinematics. The album has its magical moments, like the otherwordly clarinet on Mercury, alongside occasional drab meanderings but overall this solidified his place in my top artists. His recent mixtape on the other hand has no drab moments: At last someone who likes Kadri Gopalnath as much as I do!. Out on Olde English Spelling Bee.

The album stitches together fourtrack recordings and various fragmentary, cross-cultural elements into a fluid tapestry of psychedelic doodles and hazy songs driven by keyboards and guitar. Bones Of Seabirds : Drone, noise, ambient tarzlarda değişik ve ilginç bir müzik. Yer yer Lustmord tarzı dark ambient etkiler de hissedilen bir çalışma. Lastfm‘de şimdilik sadece 501 dinleyicileri var. Albümden derin ve düşündürücü etkiye sahip Serpent parçası ilk parçamız..

İkinci parça Infinite Body‘den What They Wanted To Be Was Useless isimli. Carve Out The Face Of My God adlı albümde yer alıyor. 2010 tarihli albüm drone, ambient tarzda ve gayet başarılı..

Marc Broude – Muerte: 1984 doğumlu genç müzisyenin şimdilik son çalışması olan Medicine albümünden değişik bir çalışma..Noise, drone, psychedelic soundlar ağırlık basıyor. Lastfm‘de sadece 95 dinleyicisi var!

Bu kısaca bahsedeceğim grup ise; Ulver grubunun konser turunda, Şubat’ta İngiltere ayağında destekleyeceği gruplardan. Necro Deathmort. Tarzları için çok şey söyleyebilirim. Doom metal, drone, doom, dub, noise, ambient gibi türlerin karışımından oluşmuş etkileyici bir müzikleri var; bu gruba dikkat çekmek isterim! Albümdeki tüm parçaları tam uzunlukta lastfm üzerinden dinleyebilirsiniz..

Son parça, gene beni bu hafta oldukça oyalayan gruplardan, ismiyle de ilgi çeken Yoga. Atmosferik bir yapı, psychedelic müziğin sakinliği, derin ve içten gelen gürültüler, drone, noise, doom ve black metalin mükemmel uyumu. Kesinlikle dinlenmesi gereken bir grup. Örnek vereceğimiz parçanın bulunduğu Megafauna albümüne de lastfm üzerinden erişmeniz mümkün.

The queen of drone & tape music, Eliane Radigue is now 78 years old. Junkmedia had an article on the occasion a few weeks ago:

Radigue’s music is frequently described in terms that may make it sound like equal parts ether and airy space-bliss, a fair characterization of many of the current drone artists Radigue has influenced. In fact, she creates her sounds in a labor-intensive process of imperceptibly measured sonic increments, moving her hands between knobs, patches, potentiometers and a stop-watch, paradoxically creating the sensation of luxuriant drones outside of time with precision and a famous perfectionism. She has tried and rejected the digital way. She believes the labor required of the ARP 2500 results in elements of her sound that cannot be created otherwise.

Important Records has reissued two of her earlier works, Triptych and Vice Versa, so that younger droneheads can experience the intensity of her sounds. 1970’s Vice Versa predates even her usage of synths and it’s composed of tape feedback!.

In their issue of the piece, Important Records have selected four playback speeds (one disc with the tape going forwards, the other with the tape spooling backwards) corresponding to the settings on tape recorders of the era. Boomkat

“I used to run label called Outa for a couple of years 2004-2006. Then i had enough for many reasons. After a short break i tried to get back in busines again, releasing this compilation. It maybe sold 5 copies or so. The era of cd-r was over? I dont know why people were not so into Finnish Experimental music anymore. I still think that this compilation sounds really good. And i think many more people than just those five who bought it, can get alot out of these great songs. Ikuisuus”

Öncelikle, bu yılın benim için en iyi albümü The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble üyelerinin diğer projesi olan The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation olduğunu söylemem gerek. Sonrasında son albümlerini Neurot Records tarafından çıkarılan Sludge & post-metal grubu A Storm Of Light bu yaz oldukça beni oyaladı. Konuk sanatçılar arasında Jarboe’nin de olması beni daha da etkilemiş olsa gerek. Ipecac destekli ZU, SunnO))) nun mükemmel son albümü, Fransız post-rock grubu Kwoon’un yılın son ayı içinde çıkarmış olduğu leziz albüm, Khanate grubunun inanılmaz bir sürpriz yaparak yeniden birleşip albüm yayınlamaları, yine Ipecac‘dan Dälek’in son çalışması, Topaz Rags‘in az bilinen; fakat daha fazla ilgiyi hak eden albümü, Brothers Of The Occult Sisterhood’un sadece 500 adet basılan çalışması Grass Openings, Aşırı üretken Aidan Baker’in asıl projesi Nadja‘nın 2009′da çıkardığı albümlerden bir kaçı, Post-rock müziğe değişiklik getiren Maybeshewill, son albümüyle hard rock’tan black-death metale değişik bir yelpaze sunan sürpriz Jamie Saft albümü Black Shabbis, son aylardaki güzel keşiflerimden biri olan Starving Weirdos, Ben frost’un kusursuz albümü, klasik ve gerçek doom metalin efendileri YOB, Neurosis’den Steve Von Till’in özel projelerinden biri olan Harvestman. Hepsi ve buraya sığdıramadığım bir çok grup oldu 2009 yılında..2010 yılından daha da ümitiliyim.. Drone, psychedelic, noise, dark-jazz, ambient vs müziğin daha da yükselişe geçeğini düşünüyorum. 2010 yılı daha fazla yeni grup ve albümle geçer umarım.
