Faux Pas: Waterfalls
Tim Shiel aka Faux Pas is a well-known electronic musician for avid undomondo readers. Making non-conforming and progressive music, coming from down under and releasing stuff yourself don’t help you a lot in the music industry, but it’s a huge hard on for us at undomondo.
Nôze
These days the French seem to be enjoying themselves more than the rest of Europe. Fueled by booze, disco revival, fashion and more booze, Paris nights have taken the standard from drugcrazed Berlin and its selfobsessed minimal house/techno. French duo Nôze have even bigger aspirations like putting fun back into minimal house?!?.
Medeski Martin & Wood
Anyways, here’s a few songs from Brooklyn’s jazz/funk stalwarts Medeski, Martin and Wood. Their new one “Let’s go everywhere” is actually a kiddie album so what better present for the kids today!. This is an album to “introduce children to jazz without making it too heady, to make it actually fun.”
Breaking News : Forro in the Dark in town
This album’s really the most easy going and cheerful album that we’ve listened to in a few months, completely packed with percussion (including a triangle!), tropical vibes, flute, guitar and it’s seen as the best representation of Forro, the traditional dance & music of northeastern Brazil channeled into a highly accessible easy listening mentality (unlike some of the stale latin jazz).
P:ano – Ghost Pirates without Heads
This lovely 4 piece indie pop band makes music similar to Architecture in Helsinki or Bearsuit. Fragile and sensitive music with cheerful and humorous lyrics, chorus arrangements, short songs.. They sure live in a dream world, where everything is pink, and there’s Simpsons on tv all the time.
