RQM : Colors Fade
Remember Berlin/Barcelona based MC, RQM? He’s been known to lend his vocal talent first and foremost to Jahcoozi and Al Haca! He send us his new self-released EP which just dropped on Juno a few days ago which includes remixes of Colors Fade by Chris de Luca and JF, and another track called Atomic Fusion produced by Siriusmo.
Hold the Line
We’ve never been fans of crunk, reggaeton or dancehall, but two remixes hit our mailbox last night that challenged our tastes.
Gambetta
Three of the best dubstep tunes I’ve heard recently, from Ramadanman aka Pearson Sound, 2562 and Scottish troupe Mungos Hifi.
Caspa & Distance
Hate to lead you to think Caspa and Distance has made a track together. Just two dark, metallic and wobbly bass tracks for you to enjoy straight off London.
Avishai Cohen : Aurora
The Israeli-born bass player (not the other Israeli-born trumpeter with the same name, honestly, two jazz players with the same name is kind of confusing.) well known for his successful leader career as well as being a Chick Corea sideman, sings on most of Aurora and this one is the first one that leans almost exclusively on the folk side.
Darkstep
It’s safe to continue with a little bit of darkness, and one of the darkest breeds of music is UK’s dubstep. It’s surprising because darkness is more or less equated with noise and guttural voices, yet dubstep freaks continue to provide darkness remaining clear cut and non distorted. Creepy.
Golem’s 2008 List
We’re back up with a new and hopefully a better design, we’ll be pumping late bestof lists in the coming days. Let’s start with our friend Golem, one half of the Flatliners dnb crew. Golem’s best of list spans dubstep, drum & bass and drone!.
Henry Grimes Trio
Legendary bassist Henry Grimes has a rerelease on ESP-Disk, of the one and only disc he has been a leader on named “The Call“.
