After the Larry Heard post, it’s about time I get a few selected house tracks off my “feature it” directory. The Haaksman & Haaksman remix of Stereotyp’s Keepin’ Me is as massive as it gets, with a muted guitar at the back, female vocals and a funky steppa rhythms.

It’s been a long time since we’ve done a deep/vocal house selection, and meanwhile there’s been some incredible output which usually only makes their ways to DJs’ cases. Here’s a carefully picked selection.

Lisboa’s Tora Tora Big Band is one of the most colourful and groovy bands I’ve listened to this year. This 12 people neo big band has revived the fun of the big bands from the last century in their own words (it feels nice to say last century!)

And today’s last post is once again influenced by African music. Channel U is Yusuke Yamamoto. You’re surely right to expect eclectic music from a man of Japanese origin, making his own mixture of dub, electronica and jazz, and it is so!.
