Diesler exclusive mix for undomondo
Our friend from UK, Jonathan Radford aka Diesler (Tru Thoughts, Freestyle and also remixes on Ninja Tune, Sundays Best and others) has made an exclusive summer mix for us. A 40 minute mix of the best beat, nujazz & latin grooves mixed flawlessly, this mix might be a lifesaver in case of being subject to bad commercial music on your holiday trips. (Which I’m sure will happen at one step).
King Britt
Philadelphia’s King Britt (aka Sylk 130, Scuba) is 30 something right now, yet he’s still full of the energy he used to have in his youth. His eclectic taste in music and his genrebending productions and remixes had made him a major player in the Philly hip-hop, house and soul scenes since 1990’s and he’s worked with many of our favourite artists like Ursula Rucker, Rich Medina..
Kelis’ new one
I had never thought that one day I’ll be writing about Kelis, although I had loved her milkshake song back in the day and I was impressed that a mainstream artist has got such a good song. I checked her new album that recently got released after I watched her first video. I haven’t listened it from beginning to end, but it seems to be a nice effort.
Soil & Pimp Sessions – Pimp Master
They’re both Japanese. Let’s just get that fact out of our way at once. Why oh why are japanese so good with jazz? It’s probably the same as electronics. They take revenge from the western world by doing the things they take from westerners better than the west. Yes, don’t be fooled by their smiling toy faces, Japs are mean little bastards when it comes to jazz.
Espen Horne – Ain’t no Sunshine
Mr. Horne is a talented musicman from Bergen, Norway and this song is off his debut release on the yummy Norwegian label Hi-Fi Terapi. Espen is not a newcomer in the scene though, he has released many records on the ever-successful Stereo Deluxe label as Bobby Hughes and on the Tru Thoughts label as Kinny & Horne.
plantlife – when she smiles she lights the sky
It seems I’m a bit late to jump on Plantlife, i just heard this EP, and i realized that they’ve won a best album award from Gilles Peterson last year, and countless comments from people like Pharell, Def Mos, Xzibit, and no it’s not a hiphop album.
atlantic conveyor – nasty things
soulful laidback urban house tune with incredible vocals.
I just can’t remember which song this vocal melody reminds me of.. but it is something for sure!!
