I think I’m once again the last one to present his top of the year list. Like last year I’ve tried to limit the list to 10 albums, but thanks to stuff I remembered at the last moment the list will be much longer than I’ve intended it to be.

Yes, again, I strolled through some great lists thanks to DJ Martian’s bookmarks on del.icio.us, he probably has all the 2006 lists ever, (as always). I’ve selected some stuff as well, and I’m pretty sure I’m the last one to compose a list (as always!!) but I don’t have the time yet. Tomorrow hopefully. But till then, some more top 2006 lists :

* Funtime OK’s 2006 list. incl. Burial, Joanna Newsom, Battles, and lists Destroyer & The Knife on disappointments.
* A very informative Joanna Newsom live review and 2 songs on Under the Rotunda.
* Bubbachops’ New Year List for 2006 on Motel de Moka. Varied list, haven’t heard most of these at all. (apart from Charalambides and Hisato Higuchi)

* Tourfilter is a great web2.0 service for tourdate info in USA. Pretty useful.
* Brazilian albums that you have to listen to at least once before you die. Informative list on Last.FM incl. artists like Os Mutantes, Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento and Gilberto Gil.

Here’s the second part of the crash course with more electro pop and vocal stuff this time. You’re most likely to remember and own most of the songs in here, but how could i omit Sunglasses at Night or Frank Sinatra from this list. All of the songs have stood the test of time for me, sorry that I couldn’t put any Air Liquide, Japanese Telecom, Arpanet, Skanform and others..

The first part is obviously the most influential and groundbreaking albums for me this year. In a way, they are the most complete and strangely addictive ones as an album and they are more musical in a sense.

End of year lists are always a nice way to send good karma to all the great musicians, now with all these mp3blogs and social services, we can finally tell all the “underground” musicians how much we appreciate their music, and how it makes the world a better place and all that..

Ok boys and girls, everyone likes to make a toplist, it’s a humanly urge.. I’ve made one too and I’m going to publish it next week. It’s a top 10 list anyway so it’s not so big and there are tens of lists with tens of bands, so I tried to do a metalist of better lists / choices for you.
