After a year or so of laying low, we’re starting a new music venue in Cihangir, Istanbul with our usual partners-in-crime, soap-system and etrafta. Minimuzikhol will be operating from Wednesday to Saturday and will hopefully be a safe haven for versatile music, which is hard to come by in Istanbul.

We’ll be presenting some great acts from abroad as well as small live acts and local DJs who doesn’t play run-of-the-mill music. The place will be a cosy and casual place with fair prices and regular happy hours. It will be a friendly business, and not a PR & celebrity fueled monstrosity. We hope to stop the usual guestlist nepotism of Istanbul nightlife and get everyone to pay small fees for the music, please don’t bug us about the guestlist – there’s no guestlist. We start off this Friday with The Time & Space Machine of Tirk Records, London; a regular on undomondo.

Richard Norris, famed collector and producer, who’s been a part of The Grid with Dave Ball of Soft Cell in his early career, remixing the likes of Pet Shop Boys, Yello and Brian Eno, and dealing with acid house & balearic music. He is also one half of Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve with Erol Alkan, which sounds similar to his solo project The Time & Space Machine, a festivity of psychedelia & beats.

In partnership with Erol Alkan as Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve, Richard has firmly cemented his position in the Psyche-scape. Their series of re-edit 12” mini albums were not only instantly snapped up in stores but also led to a series of high profile remixes for artists such as Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp, Franz Ferdinand and more.
