The one artist that I want to steal his name, Gothenburg’s Henrik Jonsson aka Porn Sword Tobacco has relocated to Berlin, before releasing his 4th album on City Centre Offices. It’s the beauty of being a member of the EU, you can relocate as much as you want, add flavours to your life, or why not start a completely new life? you can do it with no questions asked, unless you live in a periphery country like our Turkey, which would mean even basic traveling is subject to careful consideration and consulate bribery, but anyway.

On Everything is Music to the Ear, PST’s familiar vintage synth based electronic clouds, geeky humour and eclecticism are still present, yet there’s something that makes this harder to like than previous efforts. I tried to check out other reviews for clues but all I could find was The Silent Ballet’s Brendan Kraft muttering an unintelligible and unfunny story and giving it a 3.5/10.

So, with no help obtained from the net, I turned to myself, and the first thing I thought, it must be because of the new age sound. “En Ny Morgon” is so cheesy that it doesn’t even fall into the camp category. The third song I Love Riding my Bicycle (and many other songs) is 90’s Rephlex rehashed. A short interlude and it’s back to new age at no.5. Frankly I don’t know what has happened to my beloved Porn Sword Tobacco. It might be that he’s aging up and turning into a newage afficionado or he’s made some personal choices in life, but I think the best explanation is that hellhole called Berlin has crept up inside him. Sorry, this is just a mediocre effort from a better musician. 3/5
