Just got a few minutes to share some promos that recently hit our inbox.
The first one is a giveaway for the Felabrations that is taking place all over the world (but mostly USA!) during October. Here’s his iconic song Zombie where he mocked the military which resulted in a catastrophic backlash from the army itself. Simply classic.
The original Felabrations date back to the early 1970s when Fela and his band took over the courtyard of the Empire Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria, and performed several nights a week to thousands of worshipping fans. “The Shrine,” as the courtyard came to be known, became a very popular nightspot and the audience was made up of everyone from the youths of Lagos to professors, civil servants, government officials and even soldiers. And of course, the Shrine was a center for much more than music.
Next up, Brooklyn Hip-Hop crew Diamond District is releasing the official retail of their debut In the Ruff with two additional tracks. The clean version was released for free download early in the year and got rave reviews.
The last one came from Aldo Vanucci whom we featured here a few posts ago. This is an unofficial mashup of a Belleruche song with another song that I can’t quite grasp. It’s up for grabs for just a few more days, so go there immediately if you wanna give it a listen.
