The guilt of not going through the promo folder in our mailbox has been hung around my neck for the last weeks. There are lots of sincerely sent promos waiting for action, alongside x5 auto sent by attention hungry PRs who never check what we publish. That results in other stuff being lost in the mailbox as the amount easily escalates to hundreds in a week.

Anyways I’m trying to clean up the mailbox for the umpteenth time, and I’ll start with the indie/pop/rock selection. Dance / electronic stuff to follow soon.

+ LA Instrumental Rock band Signal Hill has just released their new album “More after we’re gone”.

+ Maps and Atlases leader David Davidson has a new band called Cast Spells which is releasing its debut EP Bright Works And Baton on Sargent House in July.

+ Giant Hand aka Kirk Ramsey is a lo-fi singer songwriter from Canada who just released his debut album “Coming Home”. More here.

+ Vancouver’s Abernethy is releasing their new album The World Outside the Window on Spinning Gold next month.

+ North Carolina’s Bombadil is also getting a new record out called “Tarpits and Canyonlands” next month on Ramseur Records. 15 songs of cheerful lo-fi indie pop / folk. This is the opener in which they proclaim they’re building us pyramids. Cute!
