The second part of the mailbox love can loosely be grouped as dance but it’s actually more than that. Opener is off Strut Records‘ amazing new compilation Black Rio : Original soul samba from 68-81 which is released today, this is the finest quality funk/samba that you’ll get this summer, dug by DJ Cliffy. Next up is Universal Vibes‘ boss Paddy Freeform’s hypnotic hype remix to Jaffa Surfa.
We’ve received a new release from Jazz & Milk Recordings, 3rd installment of their latin tinged nujazz series Jazz & Milk Breaks with a suspiciously Balkan brass sounding jazz breaks from Greenwood Rhythm Coalition. get it here.
A lovely deep remix of Lizzy Parks‘ In the Morning by one of our favourite new UK hip-hop producers Paul White. As easy as it gets. Courtesy of Tru Thoughts.
Another huge hit of this summer will hopefully be Laura Vane & The Vipertones‘ new single, “Am I dreaming?”, which is a sweet Motown inspired soul track. We’ve already written about their first single “Steam” in January, but it feels nicer now that its summertime. Looking forward to their debut in August.
Another artist we’ve written about before is the Brooklyn based producer Alan Wilkis before, his self-released sophomore EP is out and it’s 6 songs of laidback electropop.
Another electropop track is an electrified remix of indie hypemakers Magic Wands. Although we profoundly hate electrodisco music, this one is somehow tolerable, and catchy.
