Been meaning to post these two pieces from Bela Emerson’s Hespera from last year. Bela belongs to this new creed of daring musicians like Fennesz & Aidan Baker who take their instruments further by processing it with an array of loops and effects. On Hespera she succeeds in creating experimental yet organic soundscapes with her cello and multiple pedals whether in the form of dronescapes or rhythmic looping work and sometimes good melodic sequences reminiscent of Okkyung Lee.
Order Hespera from Boomkat or from her own site
