If you’ve been following my twitter feed, we’ve started tagging albums that’ll make our year’s end lists with #essential09 a temporary twitter space for a rolling best releases thread. Zwicker’s Songs of Lucid Dreamers is going to be the 3rd essential coming from undomondo.

Cyril Boehler, the man behind Zwicker is from Zurich, with vinyls on Compost Black Label and Get Physical. I remember his past work being more electrohouse oriented so hearing deeper & warmer music on his first full length made me happier. He’s become more organic and percussive and the vocal talents of Heidi Happy (who also released a new album this year), Olivera Stanimirov, Jamie Lloyd and others are significant.

This is without doubt the best house/electronic pop album to emerge from Europe in 2009, replacing last year’s Soulphiction album as the essential dance album to get through spring/summer, with catchy tunes, easy going & uplifting vibes.
