Here are two fresh tracks from the second compilation of UK based Nudisco label TIRK which includes remixes and tracks from Chaz Jankel, Prins Thomas, Hercules & Love Affair, Todd Terje, Toby Tobias, Pete Herbert, Ecce and more. Label boss Sav Remzi is a founder of the famous Nuphonic label, a Turkish Cypriot in the music biz since the late 80s via his jazz club, and yes you guessed it right the label name is based on the pronounciation of Turk by UK chaps. TIRK02 features the who’s who of the nudisco scene as summed by the label themselves:
Whether it’s Terje chopping up Chaz Jankel into piano scream up heaven, or new Russian lads Acos Coolkas creating ice cool electronic house, Prins Thomas adding Scando swing to Sorcerer’s West Coast lounge tackle, Richard Sen going disco-psyche on Brad Vachal, Kelpe taking Architeq’s glistening glitchtonica for a warm and fuzzy slo mo bath, Hercules getting tracky on another Chas J track, or Forty Thieves adding West Coast bump to Morten Sorensens timeless ‘Start Something’….we’ve again been lucky to work with some of the worlds better artists over the last couple of years, and couldn’t be more happy to round em’ up and show them off as a 2 x cd set on Tirk 02, before striding off into what promises to be an , um, “challenging” 2009.
Here’s a cool interview with the man in Turkish done by our friends @ Half Stereo.
