SXSW hype is getting bigger and bigger each year, and the music industry is going crazy these days, tweets, emails, schedules, free music. Most go straight to the bin, because we are continents away, but free music is always welcome, if it’s coming from an identified good source like Exponential.
Texas is a label sampler by Exponential records, sponsored by our friends at aurgasm and many others, which features over 17 tracks from Texan producers. A whole range of electronic music can be found here from IDM to hiphop, dubstep.
I’ve highlighted a few of the tracks, like label boss Ernest Gonzales’ emotive IDM, Day of the Woman’s Beck-ish beats, Mirm’s oldschool electronica and instrumental hiphop by usual suspect Diego Bernal and The Throwback Edits, but don’t let it stop you to download all of them, since this is one of the freshest electronic compilations we’ve heard in the last months.
Diego Bernal – Damn You
Ernest Gonzales – Upon the 49th day
Mirm – Yume
The Throwback Edits – Broke as you
