After last night’s Ricardo & Zip night, which really wasn’t so great thanks to the low suffocation/music ratio, I barely have enough energy to do a quick recap of the first 2 months on undomondo.

The commencement of 2009 was barely worthwhile with a few 4 star LPs and slight disappointments from trusted artists. Animal Collective’s much hyped album is at most mediocre, if you aren’t preaching to the hipster choir, Alela Diane’s album is kind of bland after her brilliant sophomore and so is Tim Hecker’s yet I’ll give both a few more tries.

Here’s a humorous list of negatively rated releases by RYM native Iskra1903. Kind of agree with most of his choices that I’ve listened, except a few like The Whitest Boy Alive LP which does have some hope after all, Elegi which I haven’t listened to yet but will definitely check and Rafael Anton Irisarri’s 12″ which was OK for me.

Coming to undomondo in March will be albums from Zu, Mulatu Astatke vs. The Heliotronics and Borah Bergman’s incredible album on Tzadik.
