This weekend Ricardo Villalobos and Zip will be performing in Istanbul with our own Tutan and (((Emre))) who’s back from a looong army duty. Introducing Ricardo Villalobos is unnecessary as he’s a world famous DJ/Producer now, yet there’s a relatively small cadre of people who can point back to the start of the minimal house/techno scene and claim Dimbiman aka Zip as one of the progenitors. Perlon boss and one half of Pantytec was responsible for the wacky minimal house genre which was quite different than what the serious Kompakt people were doing back then, in fact he was the one who put the fun in minimal house. Today his style is copy pasted so much its made redundant, but he always has new stuff brewing under his hat. Make sure you get in early to listen to Tutan and (((Emre))) spin, and don’t miss Zip as he will take the turntables over around midnight. Enjoy 2 classic sets from 98-99 and wonder how they’re still fresh today.
